Parts is Parts Water Fountain

Went to the Eccles Community Art Center at 2580 Jefferson Ave, Ogden, Utah. In the art center plaza is a fountain a gift from Robert and Sally Arway, the fountain was designed in 2001 by Terry Combe Johnson. I decided to do a "parts is parts" on the fountain. Parts is parts is a concept taught by my online photo instructor Carol Leigh, it is about really looking at and studying the object your going to photograph. The object is to take as many good photographs of the object as you can, then choose ten of the photos that conveys the essence of the object, and share them. © Dale Wing

Between the Storms

Today it was raining when I got up, it quit raining, but was still overcasted. I decided to go out and photograph anyway. And this is what I came up with today. I drove around the block and found the Snapdragon and rose in a neighbors yard. The number three is from an old warehouse that is being remodeled. I thought I better go and photograph all the dock numbers just in case they decide to remove them. I seen puffs of black smoke in the air and decided to chase a fire, actually the city is doing redevelopment and there using some of the old homes to let the fire department practice firefighting. © Dale Wing

Old Machinary, rock, and Weed

I was in the mood to photograph some rust, which I can't get enough of, so I went to the Timbermine Steakhouse parking lot, at 1701 Park Blvd, Ogden Utah, to photograph some old farm equipment, found this neat rusty wheel. Also found a nice rock texture which I will use when I start to make photomontages. The weed was an added bonus, I don't remember the name, but it is a common weed, with a large puff ball when it goes to seed. © Dale Wing

My First Flower of Season

I haven't been feeling good so I have been going out and photographing. My goal now is to take and post at least one photo a day. The pink petals resting on the fence post is what caught my eye. I was lucky to find this rose at the Ogden Botanical Gradens, 1750 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah. © Dale Wing
